Wonder waffles are wonderful

Hey ho everyone!

Here we’re about to end another Semester. Right now it’s time to  finish all exams and in about two weeks our holidays gonna start. So my best friends and me started a new tradition in our friendship.

Now everytime before the holidays start we will go to Wonder Waffels – a waffle store near us – and eat Waffles !! Isn’t that a great tradition??!! Yeah I thought so too!

It was amazing, you go in this waffle store and  you can choose between so many diffrent toppings and even put several on. The price isn’t too bad either.

So but if you don’t have such a great store near by, but you have a waffle iron at home, I have a really delicious recipe for you.

A Turkish culinary experience in Hamburg

Hey go everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend. I definitely  had, I’ve skyped with my friend Anne,  from the Netherlands. We’ve talked  for hours. Talking about the good old days,  it brought back some good memories. One of them was our spontaneous weekend  trip to Hamburg, Germany.

There we’ve  done all the typical tourist things. Like going on a boat trip, sightseeing  in the city, watching the musical “The Lion King “, taking selfies in front of  famous  buildings,  visiting the “Kietz” and the “Reeperbahn” and of course visiting  some awesome restaurants.

One of these  was the cute little Turkish restaurant “Peacetanbul”

They have really nice staff and a great atmosphere. And their food is delicious.

This is a vegetarian burger with goat cheese and fries.

And this one are caneloni filled with spinach  and feta.

Everything  is really  yummy and  looks really good.  They staff is really  fast and friendly.

So if you’ll ever be in Hamburg  and you’re looking for a great  place to  eat, go to “Peacetanbul”. You won’t regret it!

Danish Æbleflæsk

Hey ho everyone!

Today I’ve got another Comfort Food for you! It’s one of the oldest Danish dishes from the middle of the 18th century. There are different types of recipes that are prepared locally – and in its own style and variation.

Both have the two basic elements in the dish are apples and thick slices of streaky pork – which at that time either was preserved by smoking, salting or air-drying, to last for over one year. When the industrialisation period started in the 19th century -and many peasants moved to the bigger cities for work – the “Æbleflæsk” dish followed with the new inhabitants – and slowly the Apple Pork became very popular among them too.

Today the tasty and mouth watering “Æbleflæsk” is turned into a national winter supplement and recipe – that is enjoyed by nearly every Dane at wintertime – especially at Christmas time.

Hey ho everyone!

What dish comes first to your mind, if someone asks you for danish dishes? I’d think of  smørrebrød! If you don know smørrebrød or open faced sandwich, it’s a buttered rye bread and decorated with all types of toppings.

There are so many different potions of food items as cold cuts – pieces of meat or fish – various paste – salad dressings and cheese. “Smørrebrød” is normally served together with the famous Danish beer and snaps.

This one is a really easy recipe. Just take  some rye bread slices, butter them and fully cover with the basic entrées of either vegetables – seafood or meat choices – and then the many types of tasty topping creations – which altogether is in great harmony with the rest of all the delicious food items on the sandwich.

What if we unbox each other …?!

Hey ho everyone!

Today I just wanna share this amazing video with you. Some of you might even know it already. Now you might say:” What has that to do with a food blog???!” I think this topic is present in all parts of our life. So it also has to do  something with a food blog.

Just an example: With food you have boxes like Vegans, Vegetarians and people who eat meat – just to name a few…  Now you’re sitting in a plane to anywhere and Vegetarians, Vegans, etc. do get their meals first. You might get upset or not, but you’ve already put them into another box than you are in.

We just live in a time where we too quickly put people into boxes, but maybe we have more in common than what we think…

And what do you think?!

Cannoli Siciliani

Hey ho everyone!

Today I have a very special Italian recipe for you. No it’s not Pizza, nor Pasta or Lasagne. It’s a very delishious Sicilianan dessert -one of my favorites. It’s a cannoli recipe.

Cannoli are originally from Sicily and are a must-try of Sicilian cuisine. In Italy, they are commonly known as “cannoli siciliani”, Sicilian cannoli.
